2020 General Class Course

The General Class course starts on Thursday, November 5, on Zoom, and runs for 9 sessions.  Due to holiday breaks, the course ends Jan 21. Sessions will start at 6:30PM, and run 3 hours. These are the classes sponsored by the National Electronics Museum that we have been holding for years.
No charge, of course. Students need to provide their own copy of the current ARRL General Class manual.

General Class Course - Fall 2019

A General Class Licensing Course will be conducted at the National Electronics Museum, starting Thursday, November 7, 2019, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, running for 10 weeks. No charge for attendance. Attendees should obtain a copy of the ARRL General Class License Manual, Ninth Edition. The museum is located at 1745 West Nursery Road Linthicum, MD 21090.

The General Class course for Fall 2018 will begin on Thursday, Nov. 1. Classes will be held at the National Electronics Museum from 6:30-9:30PM Eastern Time. Complete information is included in the attached PDF file.

General Class Course - Fall 2017

Beginning Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 and continuing until Jan. 11, 2018, ARCNEM will host the General Class course at the National Electronics Museum. The course is free; attendees need to have their own copy of the current General Class License Manual.

General class course

A free, approximately seven-week licensing course in preparation for the FCC General Class Amateur Radio examination. This course is appropriate for hams who already have a Technician level license.

The FCC no longer requires Morse code ability. The FCC exam will be given on the last night of the class. The class is open to the public, and there are no age restrictions. For information contact Roland Anders (

Licensing Exams - June 15

The club will offer Technician, General, and Extra level exams June 15 at the National Electronics Museum. Walk-ins are welcome. Bring photo ID and any current license.

Registration at 6:15 p.m. with exam starting at 6:30 p.m.
