2015-2016 License Class Schedule

The course schedule for the rest of the 2015-2016 cycle through June 2016 is expected to have the Extra Class course follow the General Class one now in progress. If time permits in Spring 2016, the Operating Class course (practical applications for Amateur Radio course, no license) will be held.

Extra Class Course

A free 8-10 week Extra Class course is scheduled to begin on 3 February 2015 at the Museum (subject to change if we have inclement weather). Classes start at 6:30PM and run until approx. 9:30PM. Register via email to Rol Anders, mailto:roland.anders@comcast.net.

Classes & Exams

ARCNEM usually offers 3 courses each year geared towards the Technician, General, and Extra licenses. Classes are taught one evening per week for 7 weeks or more. Courses are conducted at the National Electronics Museum on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-9:30PM.

General class course

A free, approximately seven-week licensing course in preparation for the FCC General Class Amateur Radio examination. This course is appropriate for hams who already have a Technician level license.

The FCC no longer requires Morse code ability. The FCC exam will be given on the last night of the class. The class is open to the public, and there are no age restrictions. For information contact Roland Anders (roland.anders@comcast.net).

Extra class course

A free, 8-10 week licensing course in preparation for the FCC Extra Class Amateur Radio examination. This course is appropriate for hams who have a General level license.

Operating Class - April 29 and following weeks

Beginning on April 29, 2014, at 6:30PM, the Operating Class will run for nine (9) weeks. The class is free of charge and is open to all Amateur Radio licensees. Participants should purchase their own copy of the ARRL Operations Class Manual, available via Amazon, HRO, and ARRL.
