General class course

A free, approximately seven-week licensing course in preparation for the FCC General Class Amateur Radio examination. This course is appropriate for hams who already have a Technician level license.

The FCC no longer requires Morse code ability. The FCC exam will be given on the last night of the class. The class is open to the public, and there are no age restrictions. For information contact Roland Anders (roland.anders@comcast.net).

Extra class course

A free, 8-10 week licensing course in preparation for the FCC Extra Class Amateur Radio examination. This course is appropriate for hams who have a General level license.

Operating Class - April 29 and following weeks

Beginning on April 29, 2014, at 6:30PM, the Operating Class will run for nine (9) weeks. The class is free of charge and is open to all Amateur Radio licensees. Participants should purchase their own copy of the ARRL Operations Class Manual, available via Amazon, HRO, and ARRL.

Expert guest speakers will present some of the course material, which includes:

January 21, 2014: Extra Class course scheduled to begin this evening will begin on January 28.

Due to today's snow storm and expected poor driving conditions later today, the start of the Extra Class course at NEM is being postponed until next Tuesday, January 28.

This free, 12-week licensing course is open to the general public and will be held weekly on Tuesday nights starting 1/11/11.
